May 1, 2023

Josh Prober, JD, Vice President for Legal Affairs and General Counsel at the California Health Sciences University, was named the 21st recipient for the American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO) Academy Award.

The AAO is the leading organization in providing NMM/OMM specialty credits in the U.S. The Academy Awards honors those outside of the AAO who have contributed significantly to advancing osteopathy.

Josh was honored with this prestigious award for his longstanding support of osteopathic principles and practice at the annual AAO Convocation on March 16, 2023.

The AAO Board of Trustees created the Academy Award to honor those outside the AAO family who have contributed significantly to advancing osteopathy. The selection criteria stipulate that the recipient demonstrate commitment to osteopathic principles and to the osteopathic medical profession, exhibit outstanding efforts or special contributions to promote osteopathy, continuously support and collaborate with osteopathic medical organizations, and have a vision that complements the Academy’s mission.

Throughout my career working with the osteopathic community, I’ve always had great respect for the Academy and its members and the work it does with advocacy for osteopathic manual medicine,” said Josh L. Prober, JD.

Mr. Prober added, “I think what makes me feel most honored by the award is joining the list of past award recipients – individuals who I’ve known and viewed as mentors, teachers, and friends.

John Crosby was the AOA’s Executive Director/CEO who offered me the position as AOA’s General Counsel.
