The Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA) recently hosted its Mid-Autumn Potluck Festival, bringing together students, staff, and faculty to celebrate with a feast of Asian cuisines and mooncakes. The event, held on campus, was marked by a delightful array of homemade dishes ranging from Thai fried chicken to Chinese dumplings, showcasing the rich culinary traditions of the attendees.

The evening’s centerpiece was the storytelling of “The Story of Chang’e and Hou Yi,” the myth behind the Mid-Autumn Festival, which underscores themes of love and sacrifice during the full moon every year.

As they enjoyed various mooncakes—a symbol of reunion and completeness, the CHSU community celebrated the festival’s themes of prosperity and abundance. The event highlighted the cultural richness of the Asian-Pacific American heritage and strengthened communal ties with various foods, leaving participants looking forward to next year’s gathering.
