President-Elect of the American Osteopathic Association Announced as CHSU-COM Inaugural Commencement Ceremony Speaker

California Health Sciences University (CHSU) is pleased to announce that Teresa Ann Hubka, DO, MS, FACOOG (D), FACOG, CS, President-Elect for the American Osteopathic Association will deliver the keynote address for the inaugural Class of 2024 College of Osteopathic Medicine Commencement and Hooding Ceremony.
In a statement provided by Dr. Teresa Hubka, she said “I am sincerely grateful for the honor of being the commencement speaker for California Health Sciences University’s graduation ceremony. I understand the profound significance of this milestone in the lives of the graduates as they embark on their osteopathic medical journey. As they prepare to transition from academia to practice, I am eager to share my own journey and offer words of wisdom and inspiration to these bright minds.
This moment marks the culmination of their academic endeavors and the beginning of their contributions to the healthcare industry. I am deeply committed to supporting them as they prepare to make a positive difference in the world through their dedication to healing and service.
I am particularly honored to collaborate with California Health Sciences University, an institution renowned for its commitment to excellence in education and dedication to shaping the future leaders of healthcare. Together, we will celebrate the achievements of this year’s osteopathic medicine graduating class and inspire them to continue pursuing excellence in their careers.
Dr. Teresa Hubka is from San Diego, California, and she received her degree in Biochemistry and Nutrition Science from University of California at Davis and her Master of Science in Biology and Clinical Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. Dr. Hubka received her osteopathic medical degree (DO) from Des Moines University – Osteopathic Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa and then completed an osteopathic Internship at Atlantic City Medical Center in New Jersey followed by a Residency in obstetrics and gynecologic surgery at Mercy Hospital & Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr Hubka is dual board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Osteopathic Association’s Board of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists (AOBOG) and the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). She is a Distinguished Fellow of ACOOG and a Diplomat of ACOG.
Dr. Hubka is Founder and Medical Director of Comprehensive Wellness Care, LLC, a practice of professionals in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Reproductive Health, Behavioral Health and, Integrated Health and Fitness specialists which provides complete health services to women of all ages. Dr. Hubka is in private practice but also is affiliated with hospitals in Chicago to include Ascension – Resurrection Medical Center where she served as Program Director of the Ob/Gyn Residency program of Midwestern University/OPTI: Presence – Resurrection Healthcare Consortium from 2000 through 2015.
Dr. Hubka is also a Clinical Professor and Department Chair of Ob/Gyn at Midwestern University – Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. She also serves as the core and elective Clerkship Director for 3rd and 4th year osteopathic students and Advisor to the Student Osteopathic Ob/Gyne Association (SOOGA). Dr. Hubka is a Past President of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOOG). She is Past President of the American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF) and a Trustee of the American Osteopathic Association since 2013 where she has chaired the Department of Professional Affairs, Department of Education, Department of Research and Development, Department of Affiliate Relations and Department of Government Affairs and currently is the Advisor to the Executive Board.
The commencement and hooding ceremony for the 66 graduates in the CHSU medical school’s inaugural Class of 2024 will take place on Sunday, May 19, at the Save Mart Center at Fresno State in Fresno, California.
