May 1, 2026
The California Health Sciences University College of Osteopathic Medicine (CHSU-COM), in partnership with the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California (OPSC), recently hosted a three-day workshop titled, “Clinical Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine with Lisa DeStefano, DO,” bringing together physicians from across California.
Designed for those new to Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM)/Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) as well as practitioners seeking a refresher, the course provided hands-on learning and foundational instruction in osteopathic manipulation.

Attendees included clinicians, faculty, resident physicians, and student doctors, many of whom were eager to strengthen their skills or gain a deeper understanding about how OMM works.
Participants shared that the experience was highly valuable, with many leaving the workshop feeling more confident in their knowledge and ability to apply what they learned.
The event also offered up to 16 hours of American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and American Medical Association (AMA) Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit, further supporting ongoing professional development for physicians.
According to the Osteopathic Physicians & Surgeons of California (OPSC) website, the OPSC mission is: Empowering and unifying osteopathic physicians and surgeons in California.
