On July 31, 2026, first-year medical students from California Health Sciences University (CHSU-COM) supported Fresno Mission through a community service project completed during their orientation. Students decorated these playhouses for early learners and donated them to Fresno Mission to benefit children and families in underserved communities.
To complete the project, CHSU partnered with Fresno Mission and delivered the decorated playhouses to the organization. During the visit, students were also provided with a guided tour of the Fresno Mission facilities, giving them a firsthand look at the organization’s programs and community impact.
The experience was both educational and inspiring. Many students were pleasantly surprised by the wide range of services Fresno Mission provides to individuals and families in need. The visit helped students gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by underserved populations and the importance of community-based support services. Overall, the service project offered an opportunity for students to contribute to a meaningful cause while learning more about the resources and organizations dedicated to improving the well-being of the local community.
