CHSU Students proudly participated in the 47th Annual Central California Research Symposium at Fresno State

Second-year medical students from the California Health Sciences University College of Osteopathic Medicine (CHSU-COM) proudly participated in the 47th Annual Central California Research Symposium at Fresno State, on April 22, 2026, where two groups presented their Physician’s Role in the Health System (PRHS) course research projects.
One group presented their project titled, “Identifying Patient-Reported Barriers to Colorectal Cancer Screening in an Underserved Central Valley Population.” The project was completed by student doctors Bardia Mohseni, Qazi Ahmad, Tamrin Bains, Breanna Escobar, Gracy Grander, Angela Manabat, John Nameh, Anirudh Nayak, and Fatimah Qurashi, under the mentorship of Dr. Allen Keshishian. Gracy Grander, Breanna Escobar, and Bardia Mohseni represented the group by presenting the poster at the symposium.

A second group presented their project titled, “Closing the Gap: A Student-Led Initiative to Enhance Naloxone Prescribing Practices for United Health Center Minnewawa Patients.” This project was completed by student doctors Harnoor Bhatti, Tanya Dhiman, Nora Gorgas, Brooke Guenther, Jeanessa Mendoza, Keon Taghizadeh, and Adersin Vartanyan, under the guidance of faculty PI Dr. Francisco Ibarra and Dr. Ruqayya Gill.
